We Rock Like Girls Don't
We Rock Like Girls Don't are an all-girl rock duo from Glasgow based in London. Ros Cairney a guitarist and singer from Glasgow teamed up with probably the best rock drummer, Vas, in London, the combination was electric.
The name We Rock Like Girls Don't tells you all you want to know about this band, and the clue to their highly acclaimed music is in the title of the songs, Rock 'n' Roll Freak/ Hip To You was their 7" debut, and was well received by the likes of John Peel, Jo Whiley, and Zane Lowe amongst others at Radio One. This was followed up with I Just Wanna Stick My Head Through The Bass Drum/ Out of Control which sent the press into a feeding frenzy, they realised the girls were here to stay!
Spending a great deal of the time as Headlining Band in their own right in countries such as Germany, Holland, Switzerland and France, they have also ripped apart many venues in the UK, WRLGD have supported the likes of The Killers and The Cribs, however they have headlined some of UK's top venues such as Club NME in Nottingham and Glasgow, Artrocker, Death Disco in London and rocked the X tent at T in the park.
Their new single Violence is released on their own label Distort on The 20th October and is available via Cargo and all Major Download Outlets The promotional Tour of the album WE ROCK LIKE GIRLS DON'T kicks off in late January 2009
